If you’re interested in having a bouncy castle, we require specific documentation due to the legislation surrounding their use. Please contact us directly and we’ll help you understand what’s required and guide you towards a suitable supplier.
Yes. Tablecloths are included in your venue hire.
Absolutely. Viewings are by appointment, and we welcome further meetings following your booking, where you can bring along suppliers, friends or family. You can also bring loved ones to our Open Days and Wedding Fairs.
We don’t allow external alcohol to be brought onto the premises. However, we offer a range of wine and drinks packages to suit different preferences and budgets. Our team will serve your drinks and provide all the glassware.
Absolutely. Ashmoor House’s Dartmoor views provide a beautiful natural backdrop, and you’re welcome to add your own personal touches throughout the venue. You can bring any final styling details to your final pre-wedding meeting the week before your wedding. For a seamless setup, we also offer styling packages that our team can prepare ready for your arrival — just ask us about the available options.
We’ll always keep a close eye on the forecast and work with you to make the best decision for your day. If the weather means an outdoor ceremony isn’t suitable, we can move your ceremony inside to the Garden Room.
If you want to legally marry at Ashmoor House, you’ll need to book a registrar through Devon County Council. Alternatively, you can choose to have a celebrant-led ceremony, which is a beautiful way to celebrate your marriage but is not legally binding.
Yes. We ask that you provide your insurance details as soon as possible. Wedding insurance helps protect you against unforeseen circumstances and gives you peace of mind while planning your day.
Yes. Ashmoor House weddings include our in-house catering, with menus carefully curated using local ingredients. We can also cater for all dietary requirements.
Crockery and cutlery are provided by our catering team. We provide glassware for drinks packages and water.
Yes. Our on-the-day wedding coordination is there to make sure everything runs smoothly. Our team will be with you from when you arrive on site to add the finishing touches to your tables, right through to breakfast the following morning.
Yes. We ask for a £500 security deposit two weeks before your wedding. This will be returned to you afterwards, subject to there being no damage to the venue, accommodation or grounds.
Guests can drive to Ashmoor House and park in the designated areas. We can also put you in touch with local taxi companies who offer pick-up and drop-off services.
We’ll hold your date for one week to give you time to secure your registrar with Devon County Council, if you’re holding your ceremony with us. We’ll then request a non-refundable 50% payment of the venue hire to officially secure your date.
Ashmoor House can accommodate up to 200 guests. For weddings of 150 guests or fewer, the Main Hall and Garden Room can be used separately. For weddings of more than 150 guests, the spaces open up to create one larger celebration across both rooms.
Ashmoor House has 11 bedrooms on site, allowing your wedding party and guests to stay right at the heart of the celebrations. Check-in is after the ceremony, with check-out at 10am promptly the following morning.
Yes. We have a dedicated cloakroom where your guests can leave their coats. We can also store luggage ahead of bedroom check-in.
No. For weddings of up to 150 guests, you’ll have three dedicated rooms for your wedding, meaning your guests won’t need to move while tables and chairs are rearranged between parts of the day.
We’re currently putting together a list of nearby hotels, B&Bs and camping options around Ashburton, so you’ll have plenty of options for guests who would like to stay close to the venue.
Yes. There is parking available on site, with designated areas for your guests.
We offer four different food menus, ranging from relaxed feast-style dining to three-course menus, with canapés also available. Take a look at our food menus for more information.
Devon weather can be unpredictable. If you’re planning an outdoor ceremony, we’ll keep a close eye on the forecast and can set your ceremony up inside the day before if required. This means you can enjoy your day knowing we have a plan B ready.
Our well-stocked bar offers a wide range of draught beers, ciders, wines, spirits, cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks. We also offer a selection of drinks packages for welcome drinks and other moments throughout your day, which can be pre-ordered with us at a discounted rate.
Round tables are part of the signature Ashmoor House look and are included as standard for your wedding breakfast, along with ceremony and reception chairs.
Devon weather can be unpredictable! If you’re planning an outdoor ceremony, we’ll keep a close eye on the forecast and can arrange for your ceremony to be set up inside the day before if needed.
We’re licensed for recorded and live music, as well as the supply of alcohol, until 1am. Our bar will close at 12am unless you request in advance for it to remain open until 1am.
Access to the Glam Room begins from 6am, with access to the main building from 11am.
Continental breakfast is available from 8:45am, so guests can start eating as they arrive. A hot breakfast will be served at 9am once everyone is seated. Tea, coffee and juice will also be available from 8:45am.
Our dedicated Glam Room is designed specifically for wedding preparations from 6am. It is currently in development and will be ready ahead of the launch of Ashmoor House.
Your ceremony can take place inside our Garden Room or outside on the lawn, overlooking Dartmoor.
Whilst we hope your wedding day will go without a hitch, unfortunately things can sometimes go wrong. Wedding insurance can cover cancellation, rearrangement and a range of other unexpected circumstances, helping to protect you from being left out of pocket.
